What a surprise it was to hear the Idols sing this Christian ‘praise song’ on two consecutive nights.  It was downloaded more than any song of the entire week.

 How about this unbelievable performance by Tamyra Gray?  Surely, it is one of the all time great performances on Idol.

When Lakisha belted out this ‘Dream Girl’ ballad in week one of the competition, I was ready to give her the season 6 crown. This is a performance that I will not soon forget.

Fantasia brought the house down with her rendition of the classic ‘Summertime’. This is definitely one of my all time favorite performances.

Is there anyone who has any doubt that Kellie will be a household name around the country scene for a long time? She just blew me away by writing several of the songs on her first CD; including the blockbuster,  ’I Wonder’.  You go, girl!

I would not call Katherine one of my all time Idol favorites, but I must say that when she sang ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’, it was a show stopping moment.

Talk about a young person with a big voice, what about Jordin Sparks. I’m betting there is a great career ahead for her. When she sang, ’I Who Have Nothing’, I knew that she was the Idol to beat in season 6.

I would not call Clay one of my favorites, but I have to say he does has an amazing voice. His rendition of  ‘Everlasting Love’ is definitely one of the better all time performances on Idol.

When it come to strong voices, Jennifer Hudson is right up there with the best of them. It is always a risk to perform an icon song, like this one from Whitney Houston. Jennifer clearly knocked it out of the park.

When Chris was voted off the show, I was in shock. I couldn’t be happier that his career reflects just what a huge mistake it was by that week’s voters.

Chris was always willing to take risks, and when he sang Johnny Cash’s classic, ‘I Walk The Line’; he instantly became one of my all time Idol favorites.

When it comes to great Idol performances, this one definitely makes my top 10. What a great song to showcase Elliott’s unbelievable voice. Here is Elliott singing ‘A Song For You’

One of things I enjoy most about Idol is watching the various contestants move outside their comfort zones and deliver an unbelievable performance.  When Carrie sang  ’Alone’ by Heart, it was a defining moment.  Here is the performance:

Kellie gave a lot of unbelievable performances in AI’s first season, but when she sang ‘Stuff Like That There’ it really blew me away.  I knew that she was going to be very special.
